Ananta Creative Group engaged with Trenton Downtown Association (TDA) a few weeks before the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. The scope of our work changed almost overnight. The events and attractions we were hired to promote—the BSB Gallery, Patriots Week, the Capital City Farmers’ Market and the Levitt AMP Trenton Music Series—were postponed or shut down for most of 2020, the gallery permanently.
Our role shifted from event marketing specialists to crisis communications experts. It continues to evolve as the organization reaffirms its mission and focus. Our work for TDA now includes:
Ananta designs digital and print ads, event logos, emails, social media posts, posters, flyers, banners, brochures, and more. We also write blogs, press releases, letters, newsletters, and advertisements. Targeted messaging is one of the most important strategies we employ for all TDA communications.
Ananta writes, edits and distributes email newsletters to a number of segmented audiences as part of TDA’s overall communications efforts. These include:
Each newsletter has targeted goals. EventSource drives a great deal of traffic to the TDA website and demonstrates TDA’s commitment to promote happenings in Trenton; Business Bulletin shares information of interest to SID members. Here & Now specifically communicates initiatives and events that TDA supports. Board meeting announcements keep stakeholders informed of upcoming meetings.
These communications are inexpensive, measurable and effective.
Ananta Creative Group launched a “transitional” website for the Trenton Downtown Association (TDA) during the pandemic to have a place to quickly update a constantly changing business directory. It was originally intended for that purpose only, as the organization’s website had become outdated and was difficult to maintain. Ananta resolved the issue for TDA by launching a smaller-in-scope, business-focused platform, which has been so affordable and easy to maintain that TDA still uses it to this day.
The website communicates the mission of the Special Improvement District, shines a light on small businesses, maintains a popular events calendar, and posts important announcements and updates.
Despite a limited budget for social media, the Ananta team has kept TDA’s main social media pages active by not only posting original content but also sharing posts and videos from partner organizations and businesses. We create and share increasingly more interactive content to bring the story of downtown Trenton to life.
We also publish individual business spotlights, events and blogs on the TDA website that can be easily shared on social media. It's all part of an integrated content marketing strategy that seeks to educate, engage and entertain.
Facebook impressions and engaement have increased at a moderate pace year to year. In 2023, Instagram had a 77 percent increase in engagement and reached more than 30 percent more accounts organically.
